Breast Augmentation - Cosmetic Surgery
By Todd Going
The breast augmentation procedure is becoming more and more popular. There are three approaches to this procedure and your surgeon will help you decide which technique is best for you.
Inframammary implant surgery is generally recommended by surgeons who want the most control over the exact position of the implant. Placing the implant directly into the tissue of the breast allows surgeons to maintain greater control and shape of the implant as well as make small corrections to enhance the overall look, shape and feel.
Trans-Axillary breast enhancement is for women who are looking to have a less noticeable indication of breast implants. This procedure is performed by a small incision directly into the armpit where the implant is inserted. This creates a more natural appearance and causes fewer complications with nursing.
The newest and most radical approach for this procedure is called Trans-Umbilical breast augmentation. This technique provides a virtually unnoticeable scar along with fewer complications. The incision for this procedure is made around the belly button and a small fiber optic camera is inserted into the body cavity. Using the camera, the surgeon creates a tunnel up to the breast and inserts and empty implant which will later be pumped full of saline solution. The benefits of this procedure are that there is less nerve damage, less scaring and a quicker recovery time.
