There's a risk of a reaction to the anesthesia, as well as a chance for infection or other post-surgery complications. Finally, you can be unhappy with the way that your surgery has turned out after healing; you may expect some results that are impossible due to your underlying structure, or your surgeon may not be able to complete the dramatic transformation you're hoping for.
Whether you're going under the knife for a surgery you've always wanted, or if you just want to erase some wrinkles and make yourself feel younger, the benefits of cosmetic surgery are obvious. Be sure to see a certified plastic surgery for any of your procedures, and think carefully about the results before undergoing any surgery.
